About Maroon Isle Productions
Elevating Voices, Celebrating Cultures

Founded in 2022, Maroon Isle Productions was born out of a desire to tell culturally significant stories and amplify underrepresented voices. Inspired by founder Sefanja Richard Galon’s Surinamese heritage and the legacy of the Maroons, our productions bring fresh, authentic perspectives to the stage, highlighting stories that resonate deeply with diverse audiences.
Our mission is clear: To create immersive productions with a focus on artistic excellence while championing cultural authenticity and inclusivity. We offer a creative platform for marginalized voices, fostering a vibrant, engaged community of artists and audience members alike. Whether it’s through our captivating plays or immersive cultural events, we invite everyone to experience the transformative power of the arts.
Our Approach
- Artistic Excellence: We combine creative mastery with innovative storytelling to deliver productions that are both entertaining and thought-provoking.
- Cultural Significance: We tell stories that reflect the richness of global cultures, particularly those from the African diaspora and Caribbean communities.
- Inclusivity: We provide a creative space for marginalized South Florida actors and artists to share their unique perspectives.
At Maroon Isle Productions, we strive to create a future where underrepresented voices have a stage to share their stories, and where theater becomes a space for dialogue, learning, and inspiration.
With a dedicated team of creatives, including VP of Special Events Mikhael Mendoza, Treasurer Giovanny Marin, VP of Special Events Zoë D. Garnett, and Secretary Evelaure Denis, Maroon Isle Productions continues to push the boundaries of theater, ensuring our productions are not only visually stunning but deeply impactful.
